Camping in Paris for a month-tips?

In May 2010 my father and me, we'll go to Paris and its surroundings for a month and camp. Someone he experience of planning such a trip? My father lived there for 4 years in the 80s so he knows a little. You can google some campgrounds. Some are on private farms. I traveled in Dreux, Charters and Chauteuneuf EnThymerias. These cities are all about a hour west of Paris and easy Travel.
